Jacob Sands, MDJacob Sands, MD

Jacob Sands is Associate Chief of the Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology, Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He leads the small-cell lung cancer clinical and research program and has authored numerous publications in non–small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and SCLC. Sands serves on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Small Cell Lung Cancer and Lung Screening Guidelines Committees and is co-founder and President of the Rescue Lung Society, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing lung cancer screening and early detection.

He serves as medical oncology lead for the Young-Onset Lung Cancer Program, Director of Thoracic Research for the MD Anderson Cancer Network, and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) NSCLC Guidelines Committee and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) Communications Committee.
