Edirol’s tablet form approved in Japan for osteoporosis. Towa responsible for distribution
Chugai Pharmaceutical received Japanese regulatory approval for tablet versions of its osteoporosis treatment Edirol (eldecalcitol), which has been available only in soft capsule forms. The new versions, which are slated to be launched upon NHI pricing listing in December, will be distributed and promoted by Towa Pharmaceutical
The generic major markets authorized generics of Edirol Capsules. The round-shaped Edirol Capsules roll easily and are hard to pick with fingers, so Chugai developed the tablet versions to improve convenience. Edirol Capsules will continue to be distributed and promoted by Chugai.
