WMS 2019 | Congress preview
The 24th International Annual Congress of the World Muscle Society will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from the 1 to 5 October 2019.
Networking and catch-up on the latest developments in myology around the world are the goal during the 4-day meeting led by John Vissing. The main topics to be discussed in the plenary sessions will be:
- Metabolic disturbances in neuromuscular diseases
- Extra-muscular manifestations in neuromuscular diseases
- Advances in the treatment of neuromuscular disorders
The full programme includes lectures in glycosylation related myopathies, skeletal muscle lipid metabolism and Muscle MRI as an outcome measure. Oral presentations include: Bi-allelic mutations in COX6A2 cause a striated muscle-specific cytochrome c oxidase deficiency and A new glycogen storage disorder caused by a dominant mutation in the glycogen myophosphorylase gene (PYGM).
