The core theme of the congress this year focuses on Comprehensive Cardiovascular Cardiothoracic Care (C4).
"Cardiovascular medicine is rapidly expanding and the profession is continuously challenged: by the progress in cardiac surgical techniques as well as by the increasing demands of interventional cardiology and cardiothoracic intensive care medicine. As a result, Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology has become even more attractive, but also more demanding resulting in healthcare professionals no longer being recognized solely as anaesthesia providers, but as members of a team of dedicated specialists involved in the comprehensive periprocedural surgical as well as interventional treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease."
