Meet the experts

Nina Babel, MD, PhD

Nina Babel is Principal Investigator at the Berlin Institute of Health, Center for Regenerative Therapies, Charité, and head of the Institute of Clinical Immunology and Outpatient Clinic for Immunodeficiency at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. She has clinical training in internal medicine, nephrology/transplant medicine, and immunology, and the focus of her outpatient clinic is primary and secondary immunodeficiency, including postinfectious syndromes.

Daan Dierickx, MD, PhD

Daan Dierickx is a hematologist at University Hospitals Leuven (UZ Leuven), Belgium, and a researcher within the Department of Oncology at KU Leuven and the Leuven Cancer Institute. He leads research focused on lymphomas arising in immunocompromised patients, including PTLD, and is involved in translational and clinical research aimed at improving the diagnosis and management of hematologic malignancies. Dierickx has extensive expertise in lymphoma, transplantation-associated hematologic complications, and novel therapeutic approaches in hematology.

Sylvain Choquet, MD

Sylvain Choquet is Professor of Hematology and Senior Consultant in the Department of Clinical Hematology at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital (AP-HP), Sorbonne University, Paris, France. He serves as President of the Île-de-France Hematology College and leads a nationally and internationally recognized program in lymphoid malignancies, with particular expertise in PTLD, virus-associated lymphoproliferative diseases, and lymphoma in immunocompromised patients. Choquet is actively involved in clinical and translational research and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in hematologic malignancies and transplantation-related disorders.

Susan Prockop, MD

Susan Prockop is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Director for Clinical and Translational Research in the Stem Cell Transplant Program at the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, Massachusetts, USA. She is a pediatric stem cell transplant attending physician whose primary clinical focus is the care of patients with immune deficiencies and immune dysregulation. Her clinical research focuses on immune reconstitution and its contribution to the control of viral infections. She has expertise in conducting clinical trials involving complex cellular products, including genetically engineered products.
