National Pathology Week 2017
National Pathology Week occurs annually to ‘highlight the important contribution pathologists make to healthcare’ and to ‘improve public awareness and understanding of how pathologists and scientists diagnose disease’.
The Royal College of Pathologists say:
‘National Pathology Week 2017 will offer an opportunity for people all over the UK to find out about what pathology is, how it benefits their health, and to meet the pathologists working in their local area. We provide free resources and promotional materials to regional event organisers, and will be highlighting the diversity and scale of pathology with inspiring online stories – and our social media campaign #TestingTesting.’
This advocacy event is made up of various events and activities which the organisers are encouraging supporters to try for themselves. A number of downloadble resources have been produced and made available for use in secondary schools to help educate keen minds at a young age, including 'Organs resource', 'Don't get bitten', 'To screen or not to screen' and 'Storm in a test tube'.
Divine Creations ltd have produced an informative docu-drama, which is designed to help promote pathology publicly, called The Ultimate Goal.
