Marking Lung Cancer Awareness Month: November 2017
Each November, in an effort to improve outcomes for lung cancer patients across the world, leading international research and advocacy organizations come together to mark Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
Despite lung cancer being the leading cause of cancer deaths in both men and women worldwide there still remains a lack of knowledge and understanding among both patients and physicians about effective risk reduction and treatment options.
Lung cancer awareness month aims to encourage people displaying the common symptoms of lung cancer, such as a persistent cough, breathlessness or unexplained weight-loss, to visit their GP.
