NICE recommends Selincro for Alcholol Dependence- Lundbeck.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has given in draft guidance, a positive recommendation for Selincro (nalmefene) from Lundbeck to treat Alcholol Dependence in people who are heavy drinkers but do not require immediate detoxification.It should be prescribed alongside continuous psychosocial support to help reduce alcohol consumption in line with its marketing authority. The drug is taken once a day to reduce craving for alcohol. Selincro was EU approved in February 2013.Final NICE guidance is expected in November 2014.
