FDA approves Kerydin for treatment of Onychomycosis-Anacor Pharma

Anacor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has announced that the FDA has ,on 7 July 2014,approved the New Drug Application for Kerydin (tavaborole) topical solution, 5%, the first oxaborole antifungal approved for the topical treatment of Onychomycosis of the toenails. Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nail and nail bed that affects approximately 35 million people in the United States, according to Podiatry Today.
