NICE recommends Bronchitol (Pharmaxis) for treatment of Cystic Fibrosis
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)has issued a positive recommendation in its Final Appraisal Determination for Bronchitol (mannitol dry powder) from Pharmaxis, clearing the way for reimbursement by the National Health Service. Bronchitol is recommended for adults whose lung function is rapidly declining and who do not use inhaled mucolytics for certain reasons. Bronchitol was filed at the FDA in May 2012.
