The increased risk of stroke associated with atrial fibrillation (AF) is often managed through the long-term use of oral anticoagulation. A significant proportion of patients with AF also present with concomitant acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and/or require percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), necessitating use of antiplatelet therapy to prevent coronary thrombosis. This represents a major clinical conundrum, which will be examined extensively in the following interactive eLearning modules.
