Bone health in cancer patients: ESMO Clinical Practice Guidelines

This new ESMO guideline covers areas that make bone health in cancer patients of increasing clinical importance. Besides describing incidence, epidemiology and clinical consequences of bone metastases and cancer treatment-induced fractures, the guideline provides recommendations in: diagnosis of bone metastases, multidisciplinary management of bone metastases in solid tumours and multiple myeloma, palliative radiotherapy, bone-targeted agents, prevention of skeletal morbidity in metastatic bone disease, safety aspects and special considerations in the elderly.
