Designed for respiratory therapists of all levels and specialties, Congress will focus on the topics, tools, and skills to enhance your career.
Spread across four days, Congress includes 139 sessions filled with specially designed lectures, symposiums, networking events, research presentations, and exhibit hall browsing.
Day 1 — Sunday, Nov. 5th

Day 1 kicks off with a reveal of the new AARC brand from AARC Executive Director, Dan Garrett, and welcome address from AARC President Carl Hinkson. Next, Sharon Newport, our opening keynote speaker, will discuss the individual care provider and collective impact of the respiratory therapy profession. AARC President Carl Hinkson and future President-Elect will lead the ribbon cutting to open the Exhibit Hall at 10:00 a.m. The day will continue with sessions and Open Forum presentations. Day 1 also includes the symposiums that discuss Diagnostics, Leadership and Management, Adult Acute Care, and Pulmonary Function. Day 1 will close with our Annual Awards Ceremony, followed by the Welcome Party.
Day 2 — Monday, Nov. 6

Day 2 begins with Open Forum sessions and then continues with a variety of program sessions throughout the day. Day 2 also includes symposiums that explore Leadership and Management, Neonatal/Pediatrics, Adult Acute Care, and Education topics. The afternoon will include the 11th Thomas L Petty Memorial Lecture, presented by Carolyn Rochester, MD, FCCP. Education, Adult Acute Care, Leadership and Management, and Transport will each hold their section meetings on Day 2. Expo Hours: 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Day 3 — Tuesday, Nov. 7

Day 3 will kick off with the annual Flag Folding Ceremony. Next, we’ll have the Open Forum Editor’s Choice session. The day will continue with a packed variety of program sessions and additional Open Forum sessions. Symposiums today will cover Ambulatory & Post-Acute Care, Pulmonary Function, and Diagnostics topics. Michael Klompas, MD, MPH, will deliver the 3rd Robert M. Kacmarek Scientific Memorial Lecture, where he will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on VAP and the VAE framework moving forward. Ambulatory & Post-Acute Care, Diagnostics, Sleep, and Neonatal/Pediatrics will each hold their section meetings on Day 3. Be sure not to miss the Booth Prize Drawing at the AARC Booth at 12:30 p.m. Central. Expo Hours: 9:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Day 4 — Wednesday, Nov. 8

Day 4 closes out Congress with another packed day of program sessions to include the annual Journal Symposium. President Carl Hinkson will give the annual agency update. Natalie Napolitano, MPH, RRT, RRT-NPS, FAARC, will deliver the 39th Phil Kittredge Memorial Lecture, discussing NIV failure in pediatrics and whether or not to intubate. And finally, the event will wrap up with our closing keynote speaker (TBA).
